Healthy smoothie recipe

Here’s a wonderful, tasty, and healthy smoothie recipe for your breakfast or snack – great idea to energize you for the day.

A smoothie is a total meal in a glass, with alkalinizing greens, plenty of ripe bananas and pineapples, to get a smooth creamy sweetness.

We are big smoothie fans, and like to drink – at least – one a day. For doing so, we sometimes buy 10 pineapples, and we cut them all at once, and put them into a freezer, packed into convenient little bags (reusable), which serve as a basis for making two smoothies, in which we add some bananas and some greens like fennel fronds.

If you are prepared like this, it takes approx. 5-8 min. to make a fantastic smoothie in no time.

Healthy smoothie recipe

Preparation time: 10 min.

Ingredients for 2 – 4 people (32 oz – approx. 1 liter):

bunch of fennel fronds

1/2 of pineapple

3 ripe bananas

2 cups of water (14 ounces – approx. 4dl)

Methods/steps –

1. Put the water into a blender.

2. Add your greens – fennel fronds, with chunks of fruit.

3. Process until well combined and creamy (approx. 30 sec – 1 min). Start it on low to break up big pieces of fruit, then work your way up to high for a puree. For blenders with function buttons, pulse a few times before switching to puree mode.

3. Serve and enjoy the delicious fruit of mother nature!

    • Last winter we got lots of fennel fronds from an organic gardener, we didn’t know what to do with them. We figured, we drink smoothies every day, so why not try and put them in a smoothie – the results speak for themselves! This is now one of our favorite. Try it and let us know what you think.
