Christina Sarich, Natural Society / Waking Times  Photo: Pixabay 8 Signs That We Simply Don’t Need GMOs to Feed the World Christina Sarich, Natural Society Waking Times Key research shows we don’t need GMOs to feed the world… Do we really need Monsanto’s GMOs to feed the world? Looking at the research and the studies, the answer is quite clear. Let’s take a look at the 8 proofs that we most certainly do not need GMOs to feed the world: 1. One Organic Rooftop Farm Can Feed 9000 People One organic rooftop farm can feed 9000 people. They don’t use pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, and they provide fresh produce to their community year-round (1). This is a big slap in the face to the biotech companies who lie, saying that GMO is needed to feed the world. This is only one urban farm...

Collective Evolution  Photo: Pixabay Why We Stay Busy When We’re Not & The Benefits of Doing Nothing Collective Evolution Have you ever sat down to relax only to notice yourself pick up your phone or laptop a couple minutes later to play some random time killing game or simply scroll aimlessly through your Facebook news feed? This is basically something we do to distract ourselves and we don’t even know it. We keep ourselves from truly just doing nothing. But why? Why do we stay so busy even when we are doing nothing? Earlier this year I finally completed a 2 year long project I had been working on (new documentary you can watch here!) I thought that once I was done I would finally have time to just chill out and do nothing! But it didn’t happen that...

Raw Juice Pulp Crackers

By Stanka Vukelić  Photo: Stanka Vukelić Raw Juice Pulp Crackers We always enjoy lots of fresh juices here, mostly made from organic fruits and vegetables, and as a result there’s a whole lot of pulp, which, instead of throwing it away, can be used as an ingredient for excellent crackers. The pulp is still a great source for fiber and other nutrients, so why not use it for raw crackers?! I usually collect juice pulp over the course of a couple of days, and store it in the fridge. These crackers are so simple. And, the added flavour options are endless. In this recipe, I use pulp from Apple Carrot Juice. The crackers can be used in various ways. We use it for sandwiches, vegetable spreads (as red pepper spread), or for various nut spreads.   Raw Juice Pulp...

Dissolving Illusions and The Dangers of Vaccination

Posted by on Nov 1, 2014 in Blog, Health & Food | 0 comments

PreventDisease.com Photo: Pixabay Dissolving Illusions and The Dangers of Vaccination PreventDisease.com Today, we are told that medical interventions increased our lifespan and single-handedly prevented masses of deaths. But is this really true? Dissolving Illusions details facts and figures from long-overlooked medical journals, books, newspapers, and other sources. Using myth-shattering graphs, this book shows that vaccines, antibiotics, and other medical interventions are not responsible for the increase in lifespan and the decline in mortality from infectious diseases. If the medical profession could systematically misinterpret and ignore key historical information, the question must be asked, “What else is ignored and misinterpreted today?” Perhaps the best reason to know our history is so that the worst parts are never repeated. Two centuries of UK, USA and Australian official death statistics have shown conclusively and scientifically that modern medicine is not responsible for...

Patient Googles His Way Out of Bypass Surgery

Posted by on Nov 1, 2014 in Blog, Health & Food | 0 comments

forksoverknives.com  Photo: Pixabay Patient Googles His Way Out of Bypass Surgery forksoverknives.com One of the most common operations performed in the world today is coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). I would like to share with you the remarkable story of a recent Cardiac Wellness Program patient here at Montefiore Medical Center (I’ll call him Mr. J), who changed his diet and averted the CABG knife. Mr. J is a middle-aged man with high cholesterol and a family history of heart disease. Understandably, he desperately wanted to avoid the problems that many in his family had faced, so he ate a “healthy” diet of chicken, fish, and low-fat dairy, with a few fruits and vegetables mixed in. And he exercised. A lot. In fact, he loved exercising so much that he would do it for two to three hours...

10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman

Posted by on Oct 29, 2014 in Blog, Daily Talk, Video | 0 comments

Video / Introduction by Alen Mischael Vukelić   10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman I must say that I enjoy walking, be it in big cities, small towns, or ‘off’ road. I get totally absorbed by everything around me, and very rarely do I have to deal with other people – if I don’t want to. Well, I’m a man and I never really knew that for women this isn’t the case. I was quite shocked when my wife told me that this what you are going to see in the following video is totally ‘normal’ for a woman who’s doing something very insignificant like walking down a street in New York City. Of course I knew that women have to go through much more harassment than men (obviously), but the magnitude is just astonishing. When...

When the Shale Runs Dry: A Look at the Future of Fracking

Sharon Kelly, DeSmogBlog / Waking Times   When the Shale Runs Dry: A Look at the Future of Fracking haron Kelly, DeSmogBlog Waking Times If you want to see the future of the shale industry — what today’s drilling rush will leave behind — come to Bradford, Pennsylvania. A small city, it was home to one of America’s first energy booms, producing over three quarters of the world’s oil in 1877. A wooden oil rig towering over a local museum commemorates those heady days, marking the first “billion dollar oil field” in the world. But times have changed dramatically in Bradford. Most of the oil has been pumped out, leaving residents atop an aging oil field that requires complicated upkeep and mounting costs. Since its heightin the 1940’s, Bradford’s population has steadily declined, leaving the city now home to only 8,600people, down...

Collective Evolution   Over 2200 Architects & Engineers Crush The ‘Official’ 9/11 Commission Report Collective Evolution 9/11 Truth – A set of words that have become one of the most popular subjects of the past decade both on and off the internet. A subject that has become so popular and that has educated so many people that polls suggest more than 50% of the world doesn’t believe the official story put out by the American Government in the “9/11 Commission Report.” For a long time, people have been ridiculed for questioning the official story -being called conspiracy theorists, anti-American, crazy and many more derogatory names. But does it make sense to put these people into this category given all of the evidence that exists to suggest the official story isn’t true? We aren’t talking about far reaching theories that...

Salt-Water Powered Car Gets Approval In Europe – Yes It’s Real

Posted by on Oct 24, 2014 in Blog, Daily Talk | 0 comments

Collective Evolution   Salt-Water Powered Car Gets Approval In Europe – Yes It’s Real Collective Evolution It works just like a hydrogen fuel cell except that the liquid used for storing energy is saltwater. This isn’t far from the water powered car, an idea labelled as a conspiracy by many despite the massive amount of evidence behind it. You can read more about that here. In this case (saltwater) the liquid passes through a membrane in between the two tanks, creating an electric charge. This electricity is then stored and distributed by super capacitors. The car carries the water in two 200-litre tanks, which in one sitting will allow drivers to travel up to 373 miles (600km). Overall, the four-seater is 5.25 metres (0.4ft) long, 2.2 metres wide (7.2ft), the 1.35 metre (4.4ft). “After making its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor...

Clare Howard, AlterNet / Waking Times   The Public is Being Misled, Cancer Can be Prevented, Even Reversed With Diet Clare Howard, AlterNet Waking Times T. Colin Campbell has set off a war with the food industry. He says the CIA has shown up at his door with questions. Colleagues have warned him not to pursue his controversial research findings. One of his professional organizations considered kicking him out because of his research, and national panels that once wooed him now ignore him. But in the end, T. Colin Campbell is a consummate researcher. When his findings belied one of his own foundational beliefs about nutrition, Campbell found himself standing alone at a crossroads: continue a respected and tenured academic career at a prestigious school or go public and advocate for scientific findings that counter established tenets of nutrition, contradict...

Creating False Reality with the Green Screen

Heather Callaghan, Contributor / Waking Times   Creating False Reality with the Green Screen Heather Callaghan, Contributor Waking Times Who was it (Thomas Jefferson?) that said something along the lines of “Believe nothing that you read, and only half of what you see”? Manufactured reality hadn’t reached the feats it can now with camera majick. That is to say the speed of reaching a global spectrum and the technological advancements weren’t deployed at the time. Now, more than ever, it’s time to seriously question anything that comes acrossthe telescreen. This recent YouTube upload highlights both the clever deception and marvels of green screen advancement. Green screens are a staple and must-have tool for anyone in film production and similar fields. But if you think most TV episodes and movies are filmed on site…think again. In posting this video, showing clearly...

The Practice of Gentleness

Posted by on Oct 20, 2014 in Blog, Daily Talk | 0 comments

By Paul Kowalewski Photo: Pixabay The Practice of Gentleness by Paul Kowalewski We seem to live in such a compulsively “driven” culture – everyone so driven to succeed, driven by ambition, driven to perfection. As I sit in my desert garden on this refreshingly clear and quiet Sunday morning, I think about people going off to churches everywhere, and I wonder if perhaps they are somehow striving for perfection – are they being “driven” by a desire to win the big prize that comes at the end of the journey? As I look at my own life of faith, from my earliest days of childhood I was taught that Christians are supposed to “fight the good fight.” We were taught to look at life as a war between the forces of good and the forces of evil. We were...

Turmeric – Natural Medicine to Regenerate Brain Cells, Fight Cancer and More

Dr. Mercola / Waking Times   Turmeric – Natural Medicine to Regenerate Brain Cells, Fight Cancer and More Dr. Mercola Waking Times Many spices have powerful medicinal properties, which is why they’ve been used to promote healing for thousands of years prior to the advent of patented synthetic drugs. Some spices are clearly more useful than others, and one “star player” within Nature’s pharmacy is turmeric, a yellow-pigmented curry spice often used in Indian cuisine. Turmeric also has a long history of medicinal use in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Curcumin—one of its most well-studied bioactive ingredients—exhibits over 150 potentially therapeutic activities, including potent anti-cancer properties. Curcumin is also capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, which is one reason why it holds promise as a neuroprotective agent in a wide range of neurological disorders. Researchers have previously investigated curcumin...

Which Foods Are Irradiated and Sterilized For Claims of Safety?

Posted by on Oct 17, 2014 in Blog, Health & Food | 0 comments

PreventDisease   Which Foods Are Irradiated and Sterilized For Claims of Safety? PreventDisease The primary claim by the food industry: As the world’s population climbs, the sustainable production and distribution of food is balanced against the need to ensure its chemical and microbiological safety. Although science has been unable to establish the long-term safety of food irradiation and the lasting health effects if any, almost every food category can now be legally irradiated by government regulators, even at the expense of nutritional content or our health. By 2030, food demand is expected to increase by 50 percent. Global food transport has been increasing at an exponential rate since the 1960s — faster than food production itself. What can be done? People will no longer be able to safely rely on the food industry to feed themselves. Food scientists are...
